As 2023 draws to a close, Swann Financial takes a moment to reflect on a year marked by growth, resilience, and community. The foremost highlight was the expansion of our team, welcoming Advisers Chris Murphy, Debbie Smith, Kris Hudson, and Martin Fouracre, along with valuable additions to our Practice support staff - Mary, Cassie, Robyn, Sam, Erica, Abi and Olivia.
Committed to excellence, we prioritise ongoing training, ensuring our team stays abreast of industry changes. Notably, this year saw significant FCA updates, emphasising our dedication to transparent communication. Six team members achieved well-deserved promotions, reflecting our commitment to individual development. In addition two team members each passed one of their Financial Services exams. One of our advisers, Kris Hudson gained invaluable on the job experience as part of his training before successfully completing his Academy training to become a fully qualified Financial Adviser via the St. James's Place Financial Adviser Academy.
In the local community we continued to support Schools by providing work experience with the young person spending time in each department to gain an understanding on what we do on a day to day basis.
In 2023 we had three staff gatherings. With half our team still working from home, it is important to facilitate personal connections and business updates. This provides us with an opportunity to catch up on how the business is doing as well as a chance to catch up personally and strengthen our relationships. In January our meeting reviewed the year and shared plans for 2023 and finished with a team building session. This summer we had a company meeting at Bloxham Mill sharing important company updates as well as a variety of team building activities, fostering our commitment to a positive work environment. This winter, we had an outing to the Boom Bar in Birmingham. After a year of hard work, the Directors felt the company deserved to have an afternoon of fun with a range of activities including crazy golf and axe throwing!
The global landscape, with conflicts in Russia, Ukraine, and Israel, alongside UK industry strikes, presented challenges. Despite market turbulence, our unwavering dedication to clients remained steadfast. We navigated the highs and lows together, ensuring continuous support for our clients through every situation.
Throughout 2023, Swann Financial hosted Inheritance Tax Planning seminars across England, including Warwickshire, Rutland, Cheltenham and Hertfordshire. These events have given us the opportunity to educate guests on allowances that are available from the government that are key when it comes to Inheritance Tax Planning. It has been lovely to meet all of our guests and to visit these different locations with their beautiful venues.
In September we held a Charity Golf Day at Collingtree Golf Club, raising funds for Katharine House Hospice, Kelly’s Heroes, and SJP Charitable Foundation, furthering our commitment to social responsibility.
As the festive season approaches, Swann Financial reflects on a positive 2023. With gratitude for our dedicated team and clients, we eagerly anticipate the growth that 2024 will bring.
Wishing everyone a joyful festive season and a happy New Year.
