Reflection of 2024

23 December 2024

As 2024 draws to a close, Swann Financial reflects on a year marked by growth, teamwork, and client-focused achievements. Throughout the year we expanded and developed our team, improved operational efficiency, and strengthened our commitment to both clients and the community. In this latest blog, we acknowledge the achievements of 2024 at Swann Financial and celebrate our fantastic team.

Team Growth & Development

This year we welcomed talented new members:

  • Frances Husband, Financial Adviser joined us after successfully completing her Academy training via the SJP Financial Adviser Academy
  • Dean Killick joined as Operations Manager, bringing with him a wealth of experience in Business Processing & Technology.
  • Two valuable additions to our practice support staff – George Crean and Luke Swann.

Our aim at Swann Financial is to promote from within, with training and development being a priority for the team. Jade Malloy successfully passed her exams and gained a well-deserved promotion to Paraplanner. George Grant gaining promotion to Senior Business Support Adminstrator earlier in the year, and then successfully completing his diploma in regulated financial planning on his journey to becoming a Financial Adviser. Kris Hudson achieved significant milestones by passing key financial exams, bringing him closer to attaining Chartered Financial Planner status. Debbie Smith, Financial Adviser, passed her exam in Long Term care, expanding her knowledge when collaborating with clients.

Three Practice support staff members – Holly, Olivia and Sam are also actively pursuing professional qualifications.

Two well deserved promotions in the Client Services team; Bethany Cunningham was promoted to Client Services Team Leader in recognition of her wealth of experience and ‘can do’ attitude. Holly Dixon was promoted to Client Services Administrator after passing all her apprenticeship exams.

This year we had three staff gatherings. With a sizable number of the team working from home, we recognize the importance of facilitating personal connections and sharing in-person business updates. In January, our meeting reviewed the year and shared plans for the year ahead. In July we had a meeting at Cropredy Cricket Club sharing important company updates as well as some team building activities to foster our commitment to a positive working environment. In November we had a company outing to Birmingham where the team reflected on the success and challenges this year brought whilst enjoying lunch and connecting with each other.

Client Engagement

Throughout 2024 Swann Financial hosted inheritance Tax Planning seminars in Stratford upon Avon and Leek Wooton in Warwickshire as well as Cheltenham. In addition, we held a seminar for clients covering the subject of navigating investment in turbulent times. These events have given us the opportunity to educate guests and to empower them to make informed decisions.

Community & Social Responsibility

In June, spouses Andrew Swann, Director, and Zoe Swann, Marketing Executive, raised funds for the St. James's Place Charitable Foundation by cycling over 329km in Mallorca alongside other colleagues from the SJP community.

In September, we held a Charity Golf Day at The Warwickshire Golf Club, raising funds for Katharine House Hospice, The Cure CJD Campaign, and the SJP Charitable Foundation, furthering our commitment to making a positive social impact.

Every year we sponsor a week’s holiday in Pembrokeshire, Wales for a family whose life experiences have been extreme and difficult.

Global & Economic Context

The global landscape, with continued conflicts in Ukraine, Russia and laterally the Middle East presents many challenges. The change in Government in the USA has provided lots of dialogues in the media. Despite market changes, our unwavering commitment to clients remains steadfast.

As the festive season approaches, Swann Financial reflects on a positive 2024. With thanks to our resolute team and clients, we look forward to a successful 2025.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
