Reflecting on the Year Gone By and Looking Ahead

20 January 2026

As we look back on the past year, it has been one defined by growth, collaboration and a shared commitment to doing the right thing for our clients and for each other.

We began the year by coming together for our annual Practice meeting, a valuable opportunity to reflect, celebrate our achievements and set our direction for the year ahead. Insights from colleagues across the business, including our Chief Operating Officer, Financial Planners, Directors, and the wider support team, reinforced our shared commitment to continuous improvement, sustainability and working more efficiently, including our ongoing transition towards a paperless way of working.

Throughout the year, there were many moments that reminded us just how strong our team is. From welcoming fantastic new joiners to celebrating professional achievements, development remained a key theme. We were proud to see Financial Planner, Kris Hudson, recognised as Newcomer of the Year at the Professional Adviser Awards 2025 and to celebrate exam successes as various colleagues progressed through their professional qualifications. We also saw individual recognition across the profession once again later in the year, as a nomination for the Women in Financial Advice Awards 2025 for Financial Planner, Frances Husband. These milestones reflect the dedication, ambition and hard work that runs throughout the business.

We were also thrilled to see George Grant progress from Senior Business Administrator to Financial Planner through the SJP Financial Adviser Academy. An achievement that reflects not only his hard work, but commitment to developing his expertise. We look forward to supporting George as he continues his journey as a Financial Planner.

Client engagement was another major highlight for us in 2025. We hosted several Inheritance Tax Planning seminars, including three towards the end of the year where we saw a record number of attendees. Each seminar is designed to help clients take proactive steps to protect their wealth for future generations. These events sparked thoughtful conversations and reinforced the importance of clear, forward-thinking advice, something that continues to be a growing area of focus for us.

We were also proud to champion causes close to our hearts, from sponsorships to fundraisers, we had the opportunity to support the work of organisations such as Katharine House Hospice, Movember and Oxfordshire Foster Care Association across 2025.

Mid-year, we paused again for our Practice meeting where we had another chance to reflect, learn and celebrate our successes. A standout moment was a candid interview of two Advisers who shared anecdotes of lessons learned and the advice they wish they had received earlier in their careers. It was a powerful reminder of the value of shared experience and mentorship.

As we look to the year ahead, our focus remains clear. Our clients are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in the power of teamwork, drawing on our collective knowledge, experience and expertise to deliver the best possible service. Building on last year’s momentum, we are excited about what is to come and committed to continuing to grow together.
